PBIS

NPHS faculty have bene handing out BULLDOG POWER reward cards to students to recognize the great things they see students do in school.  Drawings have been held from the names of BULLDOG POWER CARD recipients for prizes in the office.

NPHS Graphic Design students have also helped promote a culture of positive behaviors by volunteering their services to create BULLDOG POWER classroom expectation posters for interested teachers.  The posters not only help out their school, but also provide experience of real-world design application with clients.

WORLD LANGUAGE DEPARTMENT

The World Languages department is hosting a Spanish music concert featuring  Edgar Rene on November 3, 2021.  The concert costs $15 and students must be passing their classes to attend.  The concert will begin at 10am and end around 11:30, with time afterwards for photos and autographs.  This is a fun and educational opportunity for students.  Please contact your Spanish teacher if you are interested.  You must have turned in the form and money by Friday, October 22, 2021.

TECHNOLOGY CLASSES

IT Fundamentals students have started to learn coding.  This week we have been using the MIT App Inventor to create apps for a variety of purposes that work on Android devices.  This provides problem solving skills and creativity to students who are interested in technology-related careers.

Graphic Design students have finished work on a variety of posters.  In addition to the Bulldog Power PBIS posters mentioned earlier, they have also made posters that promote mental health and wellness.  As they get to the final part of the quarter, students will be learning advanced compositing techniques with Adobe Photoshop.

Programming students have been learning Python Programming.  Python Programming is used by most colleges in their computer science required coursework.  It is also used with Facebook, Dropbox, Wikipedia, and Netflix.  Students have been learning to use this language as a way to solve a variety of computational problems.
